All new clients will receive 20% OFF their job, up to 50 pages. Any remaining pages will be billed at the agreed-upon rate.

REFERRAL DISCOUNT

Anytime you refer me to another reporter who then hires me for a job, you get 10% OFF YOUR NEXT JOB!!! No limits!!!

“FREQUENT FLIER” DISCOUNT

I want you to know that I appreciate your repeat business. So for every 5th job I proof for you during a given month, I’ll reduce your rate for that job by $0.05/page. That’s a savings of $10.00 on a 200-page transcript!!

Billing and Payment

I send invoices via email twice per month: mid-month and at the end of the month.

I kindly ask that full payment be sent within 14 calendar days.

Please note that late payments will be subject to a 1.5% late charge per 30-day period, with the initial charge being assessed on the first day the invoice is past due.

To help you avoid late charges, a payment reminder will be sent via email 7 days ahead of your due date.

Special note for first-time clients: If you are a new client, your invoice will be sent to you at the same time as your proofed transcript, and payment will be due within 7 calendar days. Once you become a regular client, you will be billed twice per month. Late payments for first-time clients will be subject to the same policy outlined above. A payment reminder will be sent 3 days ahead of the due date.

My preferred method of payment is PayPal, but I also accept payments by credit/debit card and by check.

**IMPORTANT: New work will not be accepted until all past-due balances have been paid in full.

By sending work to me for proofing, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the terms of my rates and policies as outlined here.

Transcripts

All transcripts should be edited and scoped prior to sending them to me.

My role as your proofreader is to be one last set of eyes that reviews the FINAL DRAFT of your transcript for any stray errors that might have snuck by as a final step before you turn the job in. Sending me a rough draft with lots of errors drastically increases the chances that I won’t catch them all, which would damage not only my reputation, but yours as well. Please don’t let this happen!! Invest in the time to get your transcript as turn-in ready as possible when you send it to me for proofing. It will absolutely be worth it!

NOTE: I reserve the right to send back or upcharge for any transcript that is clearly not a final, turn-in-ready draft. If you choose to have me proceed with the job as it is, the rate will be increased by $0.10/page for the additional time it will take me to complete.

Please send large files (150 pages or greater) in batches of ~50 pages at a time. (Not necessary for standard turnaround.)

I think of myself not just as your proofer, but as your teammate (and I hope you feel the same!). We share the common goal of producing flawless transcripts and sending them off in as efficient a manner as possible. I have found that breaking larger jobs into smaller pieces streamlines the process considerably and helps you get your finished product turned in ASAP, especially when deadlines are tight!

Remember to convert your file to PDF!

My process of proofreading transcripts requires that the file be in PDF format. Since I am not in possession of the specific CAT software that you use, the conversion of your file to PDF will be much cleaner if it is done on your end. A free and easy-to-use PDF conversion software can be found here. I am happy to assist you with downloading and using this software if you need any help!
